I'm in the market for a furnance/HVAC unit. Any idea how much that costs?

Depends on the output. Ours ran around $3500. It's not super-high-end, but one of the better ones. At a minimum, you're probably looking at around $2000 - $2500.

From what you told us, you're not replacing an existing furnace, right? Are there ducts in place already? You'll need to think about venting, too.
